Rattlers 5 Whitecaps 2

The pitching was just bad enough for the Caps to get hopelessly behind and the 4 spot that the rattlers put up in the 4th inning was just the thing to bring down Verlander,
if anybody saw what happened to him last nite,it was deja vu for me.........could have been worse. This could be a very very very long season.........

At The Snake Pit (08) the Ridgecrest Rattlers outscored the West Huron
Whitecaps 5 to 2.

Ridgecrest brought 4 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they had 4
base hits. That early scoring held up. West Huron had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.

The win was credited to Jon Lester(1-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 1
run. Justin Verlander(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 6 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.

When questioned about the loss, Jieff Shaver said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there tonight. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this
time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'
