The Rattlers bats finally come alive vs the Whitecaps to take the series 3-2,
but it was a hard fought series as the Rattlers could only muster a 235 BA vs the Caps,
but their pitching was very good as the ERA was 3.12. The Caps batting average was a
little higher at 255 but the ERA was also higher at 3.86. All in all it was a very
good series. The Caps Jason Varitek had 4 chances at throwing runners out and was
3of4 in that category. The Caps bullpen came thru in a big way as Hoffman,Carlyle,
Durbin and Smith came up with 2 wins and 1 save and no earned runs,only Francisco
had a bad outing.

The Ridgecrest Rattlers defeated the West Huron Whitecaps by a score of 8 to 4
at The Snake Pit (08).
 
Magglio Ordonez helped send the fans home happy.  He doubled plating a run in
the 1st inning, rifled a three-run blast (his 3rd of the season) in the 3rd
inning and laced a one-base hit bringing in a run in the 7th inning.  Both
teams totaled 10 hits on the night.  
 
Cory Wade(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Chad Qualls earned the save, his 1st.  Tim Redding(0-1) was
tagged with the loss.
