outscored the Saint Gabriel Apostles 12 to 9.

Overbay enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'
in the 4th inning, stroked a base-hit plating a run in the 6th inning and
lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 8th inning. Saint
Gabriel scored in 5 different innings, but their shaky pitching kept them
from victory.

The winning pitcher was Darren O'Day(3-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings.
Andrew Bailey gained credit for his 1st save. Jamie Moyer(1-1) was the
losing pitcher in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 4 runs in

Davis(1-4) was the loser. Jim Hauseman was just happy to get a win, 'We've
had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our
back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which
we are capable.'

The Carbondale Dog Catchers ended a long winless drought and cruised to a 12
to 5 victory over the Saint Gabriel Apostles at The Kennel (03).

Lastings Milledge had a good evening at the plate. He launched a rocket-shot
out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning and delivered a
base-hit in the 5th inning. Both teams finished the game with 12 hits.

The win was credited to Nick Blackburn(3-3) who went 6 and 1/3 innings
allowing 5 runs. The losing pitcher was Doug Davis(1-3). 'It's been a rough
ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said John Smith, 'Maybe this
will put us back on track.'
