The Races ... FFF vs RBC

This one is going to be good. Fairfax Fighting Falcon (FFF) leads Rio Brazos Elk Hair Caddis (RBC) by 2.5 games with just two weeks remaining. FFF is sporting an 82-62 record, while RBC sits at 78-63, just one game back in the loss column.

In the next week, FFF plays five at a fading ARK squad. ARK has played poorly down the stretch to see its chances at the post-season almost vanish. With Fairfax's pinpoint bullpen and lineup control, look for the Falcon to take 4 of 5.

FFF finishes up the week against a very strong BAY squad. BAY is in a dogfight of its own, and sports solid usage and utilization ... aka, they're rested and ready to go. I can see this one being one of the best series in the week. BAY takes 3 of 5 hard-fought contests.

That would put FFF at 88-66.

RBC plays eight against division rival BBM. I don't think BBM has much left in its tank, so don't expect any "spoiler" out of these two four-game series. RBC takes 6 of 8.

Its tough to figure out what SJS might do when it rolls into Rio Brazos. Out of the playoffs, out of the lottery, SJS could be playing to maintain 500, or out for blood. I'm guessing the 500 route, since San Juan has its share of usage issues. Look for RBC to win 3 of 5.

That would put RBC at 87-67.

The final week of the season will see FFF and RBC face-0ff for the final eight games, hopefully FTF. Winner moves on, loser goes home.

That's some exciting stuff!
