Geovany Soto had 2 base hits as the seemingly unstoppable Ridgecrest Rattlers
topped the floundering West Huron Whitecaps by a score of 3 to 1 at The Snake
Pit (08).
 
Jon Lester(4-4) gave a fine effort for Ridgecrest.  He went 5 and 1/3 innings
allowing 4 hits and 2 walks.  Both teams finished the game with 6 hits.
 
Lester was helped out by Salomon Torres who recorded his 2nd save.  Javier
Vazquez(4-8) was the loser.  Ridgecrest continued their winnings ways
improving their record to 34-35.  They are 8-2 in their last ten games.  Jeff
Shaver was pretty down after the loss.  'We've really been sputtering along
lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two.  That won't get it done.'


i agree with that sputtering statement, i've been sputtering in this league now for
almost 5 years...........
