Javier Vazquez mowed down 11 Ridgecrest batters as the West Huron Whitecaps
defeated the Ridgecrest Rattlers in 10 innings by the score of 3 to 1 at The
Snake Pit (08).
 
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  West Huron won the game in the
10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Jeff Francoeur initiated the scoring
spurt when he banged out a single.  Carlos Lee stepped into the batter's box
and he tripled.  Daniel Murphy then delivered a single.  David Murphy stepped
in and he grounded into a double play.  West Huron had 10 hits overall, while
Ridgecrest had 7.  
 
The victory went to Russ Springer(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Springer got help from Frank Francisco who earned his 1st save.  The loss was
charged to Jason Bulger(0-1) in relief.
