The West Huron Whitecaps edged the Elkhart Lake Racers at Siebkens Park (06)
by the score of 8 to 7.
 
The game was won by West Huron with a run in the top of the 9th inning.  After
two were out Daniel Murphy cracked a solo homerun.  Elkhart Lake was not
lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory
eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win
ballgames.  
 
Erik Bedard(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Frank Francisco
recorded his 6th save.  Jonathan Broxton(0-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief.  
 
The West Huron ballclub's record now stands at 11-13.  With the loss, the
Elkhart Lake ballclub's record is 1-3, worst in the division.
