2/12/2009 16:46:41 : Denver offered $20,000,000
2/10/2009 18:58:59 : Altenberg offered $19,000,000
2/3/2009 20:45:56 : Bloomington offered $18,000,000
2/3/2009 08:51:56 : Ottawa offered $17,000,000
Fairfax takes the 8M RFA fee and doesn't match Justin Duchscherer. That bodes well for BSK, as they were looking for some top-quality pitching and got one of the top 3 cards available. Four years for a 31 yr old with a shaky track record might be risky, but Justin gives an immediate +2 wins for Bloomington. If the Sun Kings aren't in contention in August, Duchscherer might be the center of many trade talks.
2/12/2009 10:37:20 : Lehigh Valley offered $16,000,000
2/7/2009 19:03:01 : Lehigh Valley offered $14,000,000
2/7/2009 11:01:23 : Denver offered $13,000,000
2/4/2009 10:41:51 : Lehigh Valley offered $12,000,000
2/3/2009 15:00:41 : Lehigh Valley offered $12
Fairfax takes the 6M and lets Garrett Atkins sign with LVP. The Iron Pigs, with no 3B on the roster, welcome Atkins to the fold with open arms. Garrett will provide middle of the order pop against lefties, but Lehigh Valley might still be looking at options vs RHP.
2/4/2009 11:10:32 : Carbondale offered $10,000,000
An invalid bid by CDC makes Huston Street (BSK) the first FrRFA off of the board on Saturday, Feb 28th.
2/3/2009 17:07:50 : Carbondale offered $10,000,000
An invalid bid by CDC makes Francisco Cordero (DEN) the second FrRFA off of the board on Saturday, Feb 28th. These two players will go 1-2, then open bidding on the RFA's. After a break, we will finish up with the free agents. With fewer roster spots to fill this year, look for it to be a fairly quick auction.
2/13/2009 13:18:25 : Fairfax offered $5,000,000
2/4/2009 10:25:28 : Saint Gabriel offered $4,000,000
Chris Coste isn't matched by ILL (+4M) and FFF gets its first catcher. Decent bat against LHP, the Fighting Falcon need at least one more catcher in the auction.
2/4/2009 10:24:45 : Saint Gabriel offered $4,000,000
Jose Lopez steps back into the FT 2B role for the Apostles. Signed with the RFA fee from Coste, Lopez will provide league average secondbase while giving ILL a few more dollars to look for SP.
2/4/2009 17:48:17 : West Huron offered $4,000,000 Robinson Tejada (WHW)
2/4/2009 17:48:03 : West Huron offered $4,000,000 Russ Springer (WHW)
2/4/2009 17:47:46 : West Huron offered $4,000,000 Javier Lopez (WHW)
2/13/2009 11:53:57 : Denver offered $8,000,000
2/12/2009 22:45:16 : Lehigh Valley offered $7,000,000
2/4/2009 10:57:25 : Denver offered $6,000,000
WHW matches Frank Francisco and resigns three more bullpen pieces. In the process, expected win totals jump by 7, as the Whitecaps now have one of the better bullpens in the DBA. Still not enough to contend with the heavy-hitters of the Koufax, but plenty to reek some havoc across the other three divisions. Some well placed bids and this team is one-two years from the upper half.
2/9/2009 05:53:28 : Ridgecrest offered $5,000,000
2/4/2009 10:20:21 : Ottawa offered $4,000,000
OTT matches Mr Verstile, Jerry Hairston. This one-year wonder was too expensive to take away, and too good of a value not to match. Hairston fills in almost anywhere and makes the OTT bench one of the best in the DBA.
