The West Huron Whitecaps batters feasted on the Scarlett Letters pitching at
Citifield (09). The final score was a lop-sided 14 to 0.
David Murphy enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He laced a base-hit scoring
a run in the 2nd inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs in
the 4th inning. Scarlett was out-hit by West Huron, 16 hits to 4.
Javier Vazquez(4-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 7 innings.
Ricky Nolasco(3-3) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 13 runs in 6 innings.
'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Jeff Shaver sighed. 'That win feels like a tall,
cool drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
