Left fielder David Dejesus hit one over the fence and had 5 RBI and Justin
Verlander racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts at GMJ Memorial (07)
where the West Huron Whitecaps beat the ice-cold Saint Gabriel Apostles 11 to
2.
 
Dejesus had a big day against Saint Gabriel.  He lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run in the 3rd inning, doubled plating two runs in the 4th
inning and banged out a single knocking in a run in the 6th inning.  West
Huron rapped out 18 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Verlander(2-3) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Kyle
Lohse(0-4) suffered the loss.  He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 2 and 2/3
innings of work.  
 
Verlander, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
