At Siebkens Park (06) the Elkhart Lake Racers ended a long winless drought and
outscored the Saint Gabriel Apostles 5 to 2.
Elkhart Lake jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Jake
Peavy(2-0) and Elkhart Lake. That was all the run support Peavy required.
Both teams ended up with 8 hits on the night.
Jonathan Broxton recorded his 7th save. Kyle Lohse(0-4) was tagged with the
loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks.
'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' D Jay Douglas sighed. 'That win feels like a tall,
cool drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
