Chone Figgins had 3 base hits and Justin Verlander struck out 11 batters as
the West Huron Whitecaps outscored the Burmese Blood Monkeys 5 to
2.
 
Verlander(4-3) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He allowed only 5 hits
and 3 walks in 7 innings seeing his ERA drop from 2.88 to 2.62.  West Huron
managed 9 hits in their victory.  
 
Fernando Rodney gained credit for his 5th save.  Jason Marquis(1-5) was
charged with the loss.  He gave up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
 
'He was really impressive today,' Marquis said of his counterpart.  'Our guys
were just swinging at air.'
