38,275 fans were treated to a fine game at Quinten's Yard (04) as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Saint Gabriel Apostles snapped
their 7 game slide and won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Saint Gabriel scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 8th inning when
they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Adam Lind who
deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he clubbed a three-run home run
(his 7th of the season). Although they lost, Bloomington did out-hit Saint
Gabriel 10 to 4.
The winning pitcher was Kevin Correia(3-2) who allowed no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. Bobby Jenks got the save, his 14th. Grant Balfour(1-3) was tagged
with the loss in relief.
