Adam Dunn cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Paul Maholm pitched a complete
game as the Normandy Lake Landsharks staged a dramatic comeback over the
Saint Gabriel Apostles by a score of 6 to 5 at Sundrop Stadium
(08).
Normandy Lake erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Paul Konerko led off the inning
for Normandy Lake when he delivered a one-base hit. Dunn stepped up next and
he banged out a single. Werth proceeded to steal third base. James Loney
came up and he laced a base-knock. After an out was recorded, Mike Redmond
stepped in and he would hit into a fielders choice. Normandy Lake managed 10
hits in their victory.
The victory went to Maholm(9-8) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Bobby
Jenks(1-11) suffered the loss in relief.
'What a game!,' Maholm said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
