In an exciting finish the West Huron Whitecaps pulled out a win over the
Normandy Lake Landsharks by a score of 1 to 0 at Old Kent Park (08).
The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Placido Polanco delivered a base-hit. Jeff Keppinger got his
chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Taveras was
running on the next pitch and he stole second. Joe Inglett was up next and
he doubled giving West Huron the win and sending the home town fans into a
frenzy. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Robinson Tejeda(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Ben Sheets(5-15) suffered the loss. He surrendered 6 hits and 5 walks in 8
and 2/3 innings.
