First baseman Daniel Murphy had 2 base hits as the West Huron Whitecaps
outscored the Ridgecrest Rattlers 3 to 1.
 
West Huron drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits.  After an out was recorded,
Murphy drew a walk.  David Murphy followed and he hit a single.  Carlos Lee
then slapped a single.  Gerardo Parra was the next batter, but he struck out.
Ridgecrest was out-hit by West Huron, 14 hits to 10.  
 
The victory was credited to Jeff Niemann(6-6) who went 6 innings, allowing 1
run. Niemann got relief help from Fernando Rodney who gained credit for his
9th save.  The losing pitcher was Kevin Correia(5-7).  He was knocked around
by West Huron, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
