In an exciting finish the Elkhart Lake Racers pulled out a win over the
hopeless Saint Gabriel Apostles by a score of 5 to 4 at Siebkens Park
(06).
The deciding run was scored by Elkhart Lake in the bottom of the 9th. Mike
Fontenot smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' making Elkhart Lake victorious to
the delight of the the home town crowd. Both teams ended up with 12 hits on
the night.
Jonathan Broxton(2-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 2/3 innings
and allowing no runs. Yusmeiro Petit(1-5) was the losing pitcher in relief.
He allowed Elkhart Lake 3 runs in 2 innings of work.
