Jon Lester took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Ridgecrest Rattlers
beat the Oak Park Otters by a score of 3 to 2.

Lester(6-6) pitched a solid game. He went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits
and 2 walks. Lester racked up 11 strikeouts. The left-handed Lester lost
his chance for a no-hitter when Jose Reyes singled with nobody out in the 6th
inning. Oak Park threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Lester got help from Angel Guzman who was credited with his 3rd save. John
Danks(3-12) took the loss. Lester was asked about his big strikeout
performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the
road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets
real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the
crowd out of the game.'
